Our Dad Is Dead

Which isn’t today’s story, but it is important context for what comes next: our mom dated after, and one of those guys turned out to be a complete and total douchebag.

Our mom and him gave it a shot. Tried to make it work. But eventually, our Mom kicked him to the curb - where trash like him belongs.

Fast forward a few months. We’re having one of our regular breakfasts at Panera (their soufflés are delicious, btw), when out of nowhere, he shows up. Walks right up to our mom.

She sits with him. Listens to his load of absolute BS.

Now…we don’t know what exactly he said…but what we do know is that she picked up her freshly brewed, piping-hot coffee—and dumped it on his head.

Best. Moment. Ever.

Moral of the story? Sometimes, ladies, you’ve gotta be the karma.

The Secretariat Fathered Over 660 Foals

Racing horses have the best show names.

Some past Kentucky Derby winners? Mystik Dan, Always Dreaming, Rich Strike… and my personal favorite: Fusaichi Pegasus.

But what makes this year’s lineup so special is their connection to the Secretariat.

This was a horse who ran the fastest mile-and-a-quarter in Kentucky Derby history. He was the first horse in 25 years to win the Triple Crown.

Oh—and his heart? Nearly three times the size of a normal horse's.

So yeah, pretty impressive fella.

Here’s where it gets wild: every single horse in the 2025 Kentucky Derby is a descendant of this legend.

A lineage test (don’t ask us how that works—horse 23andMe?) traced all of them back to Secretariat.

It’s like if, in a few years, every Olympic swimmer turned out to be descended from Michael Phelps.

Legacy? More like dynasty.
