Excuses You Can’t Make Up (But We Did)

Not being able to lie is generally a good quality… but it definitely led to some hilarious stories for us growing up.

We made up the worst excuses imaginable - and we thought we’d share a couple of our favorites.

For context, Leeza used to bite her nails a lot. Our mom, in an effort to help her stop, would pay to get her nails done (gel, acrylic, that kind of thing). Naturally, Fena wanted her nails done too.

But here's the problem: both of us kept picking our nails off. And we really didn’t want Mom to find out.

So what did we do? We made up the most bizarre stories.

Our all-time favorite? Leeza once claimed she accidentally hit all ten of her nails against a wall and (get this) they all fell off at the same time.

We're still not sure how the physics of that would actually work... but hey, points for creativity.

Another classic: Fena was gifted an Apple Watch by Mom when she was playing tennis. One day, she cracked the screen while play-fighting with someone.

Not wanting to fess up, she claimed a tennis ball hit her watch so hard the screen shattered. Because of course it did.

So yeah… let’s just say under cover agent life is probably not in the cards for us. 🕵️‍♀️💅

AI is the hot topic of, well…everything, everywhere, all the time right now. It can take your food orders, organize your schedule, or even be your bestie - if you're a Kardashian. 

But here’s something that made us pause: AI therapists. Yep, that’s a thing now. Pretty bonkers, right?

Now, don’t get us wrong - we think AI is an incredible tool. But is it just a tool… or could it actually replace humans?

You can never truly replicate human warmth and empathy…or can you?

AI is advancing fast. Like, blink-and-it-learns-your-favorite-lunch-order fast. But trusting it with everything - your life decisions, your secrets, your midnight meltdowns - could come at a cost.

Are we trading in real human connection for synthetic support? Would we even notice if we did? And what about privacy - who has access to what’s spoken?

These are all fascinating questions during a pretty significant time of change. The truth is: there are no wrong answers. You get to decide how much AI plays a role in your life.

Let’s not forget - society once panicked over the internet, and hey, we’re still here. We’ll get through this wave too.

Ads Aren’t the End-All and Be-All

As we mentioned, we’re on Etsy! Now, we just started our Etsy journey recently, so we’ve been learning a thing or two about SEO rankings (that’s short for Search Engine Optimization).

One of the best parts about Etsy is that it actually helps push your listings to be seen at no cost.

If you’ve got the right keywords that is.

For example, check out this listing title that shows up on the first page (with no ads!) when you look up “cute girl shirts:"

“Comfort Colors SeaShell Shirt, Preppy Beach T-Shirt, Gift for Teen Girls, Coastal Aesthetic Tee, Oversized Ocean Lover SeaShell T-Shirt”

Let’s break that down:

By hitting as many relevant keywords as possible-aka words people are most likely to search-you boost your chances of getting seen.

It’s a little bit strategy, a little bit word salad, and a whole lot of magic on Etsy’s end to get a listing with a good reach.

But here's the real question: for each product, how do you know which words to use… and which ones might actually hurt your listing?
