We Could Have Been Ballerinas

Amongst many things our mother has put us into over the course of our childhood, one thing that stayed for a while was dance 🩰.

We did gymnastics, hip-hop, ballet. 

And this was back when your dance teacher wasn’t like ‘Aw sweetie, you’re doing so good! It’s okay for it to take some time.’ 

Our teacher would put us against the wall, pull up our legs close to our ears, and make us hold them until we stopped whining. How else would Russia 🇷🇺 make top-level ballerinas? 

Well, the keyword of the title is ‘could’. These dance classes did not appeal to us as much as our mother wanted, so around ages 12/13, we took our musical creativity into chorus instead. And that path is a story for another time. 

It must have been tough for our mother to see that once again, there was another extracurricular we didn’t keep going with. 

And maybe it was the fact that we were also doing a hundred other things at the same time, so it was hard to focus all of our interest on this one thing. 

But either way, it allowed us to develop and become more well-versed versions of ourselves. It’s way better than if we just sat at home doing nothing.

Not every issue just shoots straight into the readers’ inboxes. 

And when you use certain language, your email provider can flag 🚩 an email as spam and put it into your spam or promotions folder instead.

So when we were talking about a better way to save money in our last newsletter (you can read it here if you haven’t yet), we got put into spam and promotions folders by many email providers.

Unfortunate, but we’re learning!
