A LITTLE TEE SISTERS STORY

Moped Mayhem

Here’s a riddle for you:
How many people are too many people on a moped in Thailand?
Two? Three? Four?

Well, we’re sure the answer varies depending on who you ask-but in our experience, the answer is a very confident four.

Now, how do we know this?

Flashback to 2014: we were visiting Thailand as a family. Sure, rental cars were an option... but we went with the local’s choice-a moped.

(When in Rome, or rather, Bangkok?)

Here’s the catch-we were a family of six. So naturally, we had to travel in batches.

On one fateful, dark night, four of us decided to pile onto a single moped. Who was driving? Our ex-stepdad. (Technically not driving, more like balancing for dear life.)

The lineup went something like this: Fena in front, then the ex-stepdad, then another sibling squeezed in, and finally Leeza hanging off the back like a human backpack.

Now, did he have a license? We’re going to go with a firm probably not.

And then it happened. He took a sharp turn too fast. There was sand. And we. Went. Flying.

Scrapes? Oh yes. Bruises? Definitely.
Broken bones? Surprisingly, no.
Luck? In abundance.

Moral of the story:
Drive safe. Don’t squeeze four people onto a moped.
Especially with no helmets.
And summer clothes.
In sandy Thailand.

You’re welcome. 😅

HOT TOPIC

When a product costs more than the profit, you stop production. Such as is with the U.S. penny.

And just like that, the Mint gave Abe the boot.

Starting in 2026, the penny will officially retire. Why?

Because each one-cent coin costs 2.7 cents to make. That’s not frugal-it’s financial slapstick.

The penny, born in 1793, has had a long ride.

It once bought gum, love (at least in vending machine ring form), and a place in the Take a Penny, Leave a Penny tray. But times have changed.

So here are some fun facts about the penny:

  • The penny’s composition hasn’t been mostly copper since 1982. It’s 97.5% zinc now. Sorry, Abe.

  • Canada dropped its penny in 2012.

  • Americans toss an estimated $62 million in coins annually-many of them pennies.

Here’s to you, tiny disc of monetary nostalgia. You made exact change possible, made wishes happen in fountains, and taught kids the joy of squishing coins on train tracks.

You weren’t always practical-but you will not be forgotten.

Fena Is A Crazy Cat Lady

Fena recently moved out and, after about a week of living on her own…she adopted a cat.

So, in the spirit of her newfound feline companionship, we’re keeping the cat designs going for one more week - to appease her and all the fellow cat ladies out there.

A TEE SISTER LESSON

Typically, after we show off our new shirt designs that you voted for we get some clicks to the store, a few likes, and occasionally (our favorite part) you lovely readers support us with a purchase.

Well...last week, none of that happened.

So we waited.
And waited.
And waited some more.

Then we finally looked back at the newsletter and realized:
Oops. We gave you the links - but forgot to show you the winner. (Well - in that case the tie)

Yep, we dropped the (very soft, very stylish) ball.

But we’re fixing that now. So without further delay, here are last week’s tied designs again and maybe give it the love (and cart space) it deserves in our shop.😉

Better late than never, right?
